About the Position

Job Title: Surgical First Assistant Profession: CST/ORT Specialty: First Assist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:00-15:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required certifications Certifications: CSFA, CFA, or SA-C Must-Have: - At least 2 years of independent Endoscopic Vein Harvest utilizing either Terumo or Maquet 6 Pro. - At least 2 years of Open Heart First Assist experience. Description: This position is for a Surgical First Assistant. The standard shift for this role is 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The unit specializes in cardiac procedures. The Surgical First Assistant will perform various procedures including CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, aorta repair (open and endoscopic), and thoracic procedures. Candidates should have strong skills in vein harvesting and open heart surgery. There will be on-call requirements every third weekend and weekday. Ideal candidates will possess a good temperament and the ability to work under pressure. All necessary scrubs and attire will be provided.
