Job Description

The Production Associate oversees the mixing process by loading product into industrial mixers, following detailed batch sheet instructions, and ensuring production runs smoothly and safely. This role involves hands-on work in a manufacturing environment and requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage the mixing process by accurately dumping bags of product into the mixer according to batch sheet instructions.
• Follow all batch sheets and production documentation to ensure correct ingredients, quantities, and timing for each mix.
• Monitor mixers and related equipment during operation to ensure the process runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Perform general production and machine operating tasks as needed to support overall workflow.
• Operate packaging equipment to pack finished products according to specifications.
• Use hand tools and measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers to verify dimensions and product accuracy.
• Conduct visual inspection of products to identify defects or inconsistencies and ensure quality standards are met.
• Load materials into machines and onto production lines in a safe and organized manner.
• Assist with troubleshooting minor mechanical issues on production and packaging equipment.
• Handle and move materials using appropriate equipment, including forklifts where qualified and required.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.

Essential Skills

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Experience or strong aptitude in machine operation in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Comfort working in general labor and production roles with repetitive tasks.
• Basic mechanical aptitude to support troubleshooting of equipment issues.
• Ability to read and follow batch sheets, basic blueprints, and written work instructions.
• Competence using hand tools and measuring devices such as tape measures and calipers.
• Attention to detail for inspection and quality checks during and after production.
• Capability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in general production, packaging, or machine operating roles.
• Experience in inspection and quality control within a manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting basic mechanical problems on production equipment.
• Experience using calipers, tape measures, and other precision measurement tools.
• Ability to read simple blueprints or diagrams related to production processes.
• Comfort working with mixed-use production equipment and hand tools.

Work Environment

The role is based in a semi-climate-controlled production facility designed to support manufacturing and packaging operations. Associates work around industrial mixers, production machinery, packaging equipment, and material-handling tools such as forklifts and hand tools. The environment involves regular lifting, standing, and moving materials throughout the shift, with attention to safety and organization at all times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenville, SC.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
