Strategic Procurement RepresentativeUnder the Director of Yield Management, the Strategic Procurement Representative is responsible for carrier sourcing, development and retention. Heightened focus and responsibility on price discovery, contract negotiation, RFP's and overall execution of new and existing business. The Strategic Procurement Representative will need to have a high-level understanding of interpersonal communication, both internally and externally.Roles and ResponsibilitiesSourcing new carrier partnersUsing our tools, technology, and established relationships to bring in new businessSupplementing Pricing team with rates for RFP's, spot quotes or any unique requestsMaking carrier routing decisionsStrong understanding of leverage and contract negotiationCold callingCollaboration with Carrier Procurement to further develop these relationshipsContracting and developing a routing guide for our carrier network around the customerHandling and escalating carrier facing issuesDeveloping better processes and efficiencies around the carrier selection process to improve customer experienceOversee, engage, and interact toward daily account successBuild strong partnerships with internal pillars and their leaders who engage with each respective clientResolve problems, including identifying issues, thinking critically to determine the best course of action, and implementing solutionsUnderstand the technology platform and drive automationStudy and understand market trends and seasonalityPerform all other duties as assigned.An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.
