Department Overview

Electric Transmission & Distribution ensures the delivery of clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy to nearly 16 million people in Northern and Central California. The Electric Transmission & Distribution Team is responsible for ensuring the electric grid's reliability and resiliency through the ongoing maintenance and operations of PG&E's 100,000 miles of distribution lines and over 18,000 miles of Transmission lines. Coworkers in Electric Transmission & Distribution actively engage in the Lean Methodology using visual management in operating reviews to cross-functionally identify and solve problems and create standard work. Position Summary

Leads teams in maintaining transmission lines Provides safe and reliable electric service while maintaining compliance with the California Public Utility Commission General Orders, all Safety regulations and other regulatory requirements. Implements best safety practices and holds subordinates accountable for adhering to established practices.

Incumbents should expect to travel throughout all divisions based on business need.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

Bay Area Minimum: $132,000

Bay Area Mid: $179,000
Bay Maximum: $226,000

California Minimum: $125,000

California Mid: $170,000

California Maximum:$215,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Job Responsibilities

• Completes and maintains all work documentation or reporting.
• Develops and maintains work relationships, regional contacts and internal networks.
• Develops and/or executes action plans to address deficiencies in process or employee skill/knowledge and track the progress of those plans.
• Effectively manages staff/team(s) through recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and rewards and recognition.
• Effectively uses resources by monitoring individual electricians’ productivity. Ensures electricians charge time appropriately for each maintenance task while monitoring unit cost.
• Efficiently and accurately performs monitoring and analysis functions for ongoing projects and work efforts. Reviews current work practices for operational efficiencies and deficiencies and provides feedback. Follows up, and recommends improvement to appropriate parties.
• Ensures maintenance work, including regulated preventative and corrective, is completed as scheduled and to quality expectations, while monitoring compliance to standards and specifications.
• Facilitates or leads weekly team meetings/tailboards. Conducts training as needed.
• Identifies and pursues productivity improvements and implements work practices to reduce operating costs while meeting corporate and regulatory compliance.
• Identifies and reacts to complex field decisions, utilizing technical knowledge and experience to move forward quickly, considering cost, risk, safety, quality and system impact. May make certain changes to the work plan as deemed necessary for the situation. Prepares a re- estimation of the work and /or adjusts the scheduled maintenance as necessary.
• Proactively prepares for emergency situations; supports company efforts during emergency situations; communicates deficiencies in emergency response/preparedness; resolves issues quickly and efficiently using the correct resources.
• Provides clear, professional, proactive communication with transmission and distribution partners in a variety of field situations.
• Regularly visits work sites to monitor operations.
• Takes action on Notice of Violation (NOV), Notice to Comply (NOC), and environmental compliance. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agency requirements including the California Public Utility Commission; Cal OSHA; Environmental Protection Agency, etc

Qualifications

Minimum:

• High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
• Experience at journey level, 3 years
• Job-related experience, 7 years
• Travel availability
• Ability to work flexible schedule

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Leadership experience
