Position Overview: The Mental Health Therapist at NARA NW’s Outpatient Treatment Center provides mental health assessment, treatment planning, and individual and group therapy for individuals in Outpatient substance use disorder treatment. Hours of work are typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday with flexibility to meet program needs, including evenings and weekends. What you will do: Provide Mental Health Assessments, individual, and group therapy sessions for clients admitted to the Outpatient Treatment program. Complete written diagnostic assessments and impressions, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries and other documentation timely as required by Oregon Administrative Rules. Adhere to NARA NW standards for direct clinical contact hours. Provide crisis intervention services as needed including referrals and follow up. Provide case management for clients including referrals, follow-up, and outreach services as needed. Participate in Outpatient and Adult Mental Health multi-disciplinary staff meetings, clinical team meetings, clinical supervision meetings, and other meetings as required. Participate in quality assurance activities including chart reviews. Attend and provide relevant training as assigned. Maintain professional credentials. Track client outcomes using feedback informed treatment. Coordinate with NARA NW treatment team members regularly. Qualifications We would like to hear from people that have: Must hold a license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or psychologist) or associate license with the corresponding licensing board (CSWA, Professional Counselor Associate, LMFT Associate, or Psychologist Resident). Pass a pre-employment or for cause drug tests. Pass criminal background and DMV checks. Mental Health Therapists must be able to pass a CRIMS fingerprinting and background check. Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills as represented in report writing and presentation of information.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community. Alcohol and Drug Counseling Certification. Experience working with clients with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
