Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to telemetry patients in an acute care setting. Focus on monitoring cardiac rhythms and ensuring patient safety during 12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Administer direct patient care to telemetry patients, including assessment, planning, and implementation.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment, responding promptly to abnormal findings.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and update individualized patient care plans.
• Document patient status, interventions, and responses accurately in the Cerner system.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions and post-discharge care instructions.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and certification requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license with at least 2 years of experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in telemetry monitoring and cardiac life support.
• Possess ACLS and CPI certifications; BLS is required.
• Have experience caring for geriatric or inpatient rehab patients, particularly swing bed populations.
• Exhibit strong patient assessment skills and attention to detail.
• Be able to work variable shifts, including nights, with minimal supervision.
