Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVPICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 3 years in high acuity hospital setting required License: RN license required Certifications: AHA BLS and PALS required Must-Have: Strong Pediatric ICU experience and at least 1 year of CV experience required. EPIC experience required. Telemetry test required to be cleared to start. Description: Evening/Nights, 12-hour shift, from 19:00 to 07:30. Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. First-time travelers allowed with 3 years of experience in a high acuity hospital. Candidates with strong level II experience may be considered. The Registered Nurse will provide family-centered care to critically ill or injured children and their families. This position involves caring for patients with a variety of medical and surgical problems. These problems include acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, and congenital heart disease. The daily census is approximately 18 patients in a mixed unit with both CVPICU and PICU patients. The Nurse will join a multidisciplinary team committed to providing expert care. General cardiac experience is required. Candidates must have experience in a high acuity hospital environment. Floating to other areas may be required as needed. Pass/fail testing is required with strict passing criteria for telemetry knowledge. The expected patient ratios are 1:1 during nights and weekends. Travelers should have recent inpatient RN experience within the last 3 years. Each candidate must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting the assignment. The facility provides specialized care in a healing environment designed for pediatric patients. Additional interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services. The unit consists of 25 beds, providing care for neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatric patients. Compliance with infection control procedures is essential. The role includes administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing advanced nursing procedures as required.
