Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for Night-Shift ICU Nurses! Job Description:
- Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
- Unit: Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU)
- 26-bed Neuro and surgical ICU within a comprehensive stroke center
- Focus on various types of Neurological patients - Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor critically ill patients
- Engage in stroke management, ICP management, and seizure management
- Manage ventilators and support invasive equipment
- Administer care for ventilated patients and IV sedation
- Staffing Ratios:
- Typically 2:1, occasionally 3:1
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend
- Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years critical care experience required
- Must possess ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications
- Experience with ICP Monitoring, Ventilator Management, and Telemetry
- Requirements:
- Float to other ICU and intermediate units
- Must pass EKG Testing prior to start
- Orientation of 24 hours provided - Special Equipment & Procedures:
- EVD management, ventilator management, and Zoll temperature management
- Proficient in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Capable of interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias
- Scheduling:
- No block scheduling; per unit needs
- Up to 7 days RTO auto approved (no holidays) - Patient Care Details:
- Adults and geriatrics in critical need
- Daily census around 18 with 20 rooms available - Interdisciplinary Support:
