Registered Nurse

This is an emergency room position requiring a skilled Registered Nurse. The emergency room is a state-certified Level III trauma center. The department treats approximately 40 patients per day on average. Nurse to patient ratios can vary, typically ranging from 3 to 4 patients per nurse during peak periods. Travelers with extended contracts may participate in triage duties if they have the necessary experience. Security personnel are present in-house 24/7. There is one designated room for psychiatric patients with video monitoring capabilities. Common patient diagnoses may include abdominal pain, falls, and chest pain. About 20% of the patient volume consists of pediatric cases. Common infusions consist of antibiotics, cardiac drips, Heparin, TPA, and insulin. Radiology services such as X-Ray and CT imaging are located adjacent to the emergency department. Registered Nurses are responsible for reading their own cardiac monitor strips. Phlebotomy services are performed by a combination of nurses and designated staff. Shifts are planned using a block scheduling approach, with weekend and holiday requirements in place. Provided scrubs are gray in color, and the department has a collaborative team of nurses and support staff. This position requires a valid nursing license and the listed certifications before starting.
