DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Tax Manager/Director - Public to join a growing public accounting team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role is responsible for leading tax engagement work across a diverse client base, while delivering accurate filings, thoughtful planning support, and dependable client service. The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to guide staff while managing multiple priorities effectively.Responsibilities:• Lead the preparation and final review of a wide range of tax filings, including returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, S corporations, and high-net-worth clients.• Oversee tax return workflow for routine and moderately complex engagements, while taking ownership of more intricate tax matters from start to finish.• Manage bookkeeping and general accounting activities using QuickBooks to support accurate financial records and tax reporting.• Partner with firm leadership on larger client engagements by helping organize deliverables, addressing tax-related issues, and recommending practical solutions.• Support tax planning and compliance efforts throughout the year, including assisting with the transition and setup of new client relationships.• Build and maintain strong client partnerships by providing responsive service and consistent attention to quality and deadlines.• Contribute to business growth by recognizing opportunities to expand services for current clients and helping generate new client relationships.• Coach and supervise entry-level tax professionals by reviewing work, answering technical questions, and encouraging ongoing development.Requirements• Demonstrated experience managing public tax engagements across individual, corporate, partnership, and S corporation returns.• Strong background working with high-net-worth individual tax matters and related planning considerations.• Proficiency with CCH ProSystem fx and CCH Sales Tax software.• Knowledge of annual income tax provision processes and corporate tax return preparation.• Familiarity with entity formation and the tax implications associated with various business structures.• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks for bookkeeping and general accounting support.• Ability to lead staff, manage multiple deadlines, and communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.Job typePerm
