Medical Surgical Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Surgical Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal health outcomes for patients primarily within the geriatric population.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical and Emergency Department setting.
- Assist in the assessment and management of patients, including those with geriatric-specific needs such as dementia and stroke.
- Contribute to patient rehabilitation post-surgery and manage general care for a diverse patient population.
- Work collaboratively within a team of Registered Nurses and support staff, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1.
- Utilize EPIC or equivalent EMR for patient documentation and communication.
- Participate in departmental orientation and ongoing training as required.
Qualifications
- Current LPN license in the state of North Dakota.
- BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an Emergency Room or critical care setting.
- Comfortable working with geriatric patients and understanding their unique healthcare needs.
- Previous travel nursing experience is not required but is preferred.
Additional Information
- Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts with guaranteed 36 hours per week.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
- Holiday Requirement: Alternating holidays.
- Self-scheduling is allowed, with block scheduling available.
- There is no on-call or standby requirement.
- Orientation will consist of 3 shifts to ensure a thorough understanding of unit protocols.
- Scrubs will be provided, with no specific color requirements.
Location
This position is located in a rural setting, serving a critical access hospital with a capacity of 25 beds, allowing for close-knit care and a supportive work environment.
