About the Position

Job Opportunity – Neuro Telemetry Registered Nurse – West Texas

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: West Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with self-scheduling; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; no call required. Patient ratios 1:4 during days and nights, 1:5 on weekends. Floating between units may be required.

Highlights:

• Level II Trauma Center with 379 staffed beds providing comprehensive stroke and epilepsy care
• 29-bed Neuro Telemetry unit with average daily census of 27 patients
• Diverse patient population including TIA/stroke, trauma, epilepsy monitoring (4 dedicated EEG beds), and neurosurgical patients post ACDF, TLIF, XLIF, and craniotomy
• EPIC electronic health record system; 12 hours of orientation provided
• Manage cardiac drips including Cardene and Heparin protocols; titration of insulin and cardiac drips
• Interdisciplinary team approach with support from IV teams, PT, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and social services

Requirements:

• Current RN license (Compact license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with 1:4 patient ratios and telemetry/step-down care
• Skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, cardiac drip management and titration, heparin and insulin protocols, vasoactive drip management, oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with charting systems required; community hospital and Level II trauma experience preferred
• First-time travelers welcome; must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays
