Chemical Technician

Job OpportunityThis position will support the plant in the role of water plant operation, laboratory duties, and environmental duties while maintaining client values. Our values are Safety First, Intentional Inclusion, Act with Integrity, and Superior Performance.Responsibilities:Learn and ensure operation of water treatment plant to meet needs of steam units, combustion turbine units, and filter water / fire water system.Learn to operate drinking water system to meet potable water needs while meeting ADEM requirements.Lab duties to include boiler water analysis to ensure protection of plant assets while meeting requirements of GEN 6500, instrumentation calibration and maintenance.Ability to analyze data and make sound recommendations for unit operation.Willingness to work in a group and take on additional roles to support the department success.Experience:Industrial experience preferred.Oral and written communication skills – required.Proficient use of computer applications.Must have good problem solving / analytical skills and be able to troubleshoot complex systems.Boiler water analysis and testing including QA/QCAbility to operate and maintain bench top and inline analyzersMust have working knowledge of safe work proceduresSkills:Water treatment plant operations.Capable of becoming certified.ADEM Water Operator (Grade II).Education:BS in chemistry or related field, minimum of 12 semester hours in chemistry required.
