Radiology Technician

Job Summary The Xray Tech performs and produces/prepares evaluation documentation of diagnostic radiography. Assists in transporting patients to radiographic room as well as preparing and maintaining radiographic room and work area. Specifications: High School graduate, completion of AMA approved X-ray training school, and current registry with Radiography through the American Registry for Radiologic Technologist (A.A.R.T.) required. Must have and maintain current licensure as a radiographer in the State of Rhode Island. Must be proficient in the English language. Requirements Experience: 2 Years Responsibilities Perform x-ray exams for IP, ER and OR service lines. Preparing examination rooms for patient examinations. Administering radiopharmaceuticals to obtain clear, usable images. Positioning patients and equipment, explaining the procedures, and ensuring patients' comfort. Inserting commands and data into the computer to document and specify the scan sequences, and monitoring the video display to adjust the density or contrast. Monitoring patients during examinations, ensuring their safety, and following procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation. Producing diagnostic images, reporting important information to the Physician, and updating patients' records. Organizing the daily procedure schedules for emergencies and monitoring radiographic supplies. Performing administrative tasks, such as answering technical questions, scheduling appointments, and offering pre-procedure advice.
