Within the administrative structure of the sasi Article 16 Clinic and in accordance with New York State regulations governing the practice of Licensed Master Social Workers, the Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) provides professional social work services to people with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (ID/DD) who require and desire such services.LMSW practices under the clinical supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary treatment team to promote quality care, positive treatment outcomes, and effective communication. This position supports sasi's mission, vision, and core values while delivering person-centered behavioral health services.

In a work environment such as sasi, it is necessary for the Licensed Master Social Worker to work cooperatively with all members of the person’s treatment team to help ensure favorable treatment outcomes and good communication.

The LMSW receives administrative supervision from the Clinic Treatment Coordinator and clinical supervision from a qualified Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), consistent with New York State Education Law, Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) requirements, Article 16 Clinic standards, and agency policy. All clinical social work services provided by the LMSW are performed within the LMSW's scope of practice, level of competency, and required clinical supervision. The LMSW does not independently provide clinical supervision of clinical social work services or other LMSWs.

4.      Conduct psychosocial assessments to evaluate each person's level of functioning related to interpersonal relationships, emotional well-being, self-esteem, stress, grief, socialization skills, support systems, and appropriateness for counseling services. Develop clinical impressions and assist in identifying treatment needs within the LMSW's scope of practice and under the clinical supervision of the LCSW. Incorporate person-centered, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and developmentally appropriate approaches when conducting assessments. 

5.      Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and objectives that reflect the person's assessed needs and requested clinic services. Review and update plans in collaboration with the supervising LCSW and interdisciplinary treatment team. 

6.      Provide individual, family, and group counseling services, as appropriate, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions within the LMSW scope of practice and under clinical supervision. Adapt interventions to accommodate each person's cognitive abilities, developmental level, communication style, cultural background, preferences, and treatment goals. Provide services in a manner that promotes dignity, autonomy, self-determination, safety, and meaningful participation in treatment . Consult with the supervising LCSW regarding clinical concerns, treatment approaches, diagnosis, and modifications to treatment as required . 

7.      Participate in or facilitate interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss clinical progress, treatment recommendations, and service coordination. Collaborate with family members, caregivers, and other supports to promote positive outcomes. 

8.      Complete accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with agency policies, Article 16 Clinic standards, Medicaid requirements, and applicable regulatory agencies. 

9.      Maintain current knowledge of developments in social work practice through continuing education, professional development, and participation in clinical supervision with the supervising LCSW. 

10.  Provide education and consultation to agency staff, as appropriate, regarding behavioral health topics, treatment approaches, and strategies to support individuals receiving services. 

11.  Maintain knowledge of and comply with all applicable OPWDD, Article 16 Clinic, agency policies, professional ethical standards, and New York State regulations governing LMSW practice.

• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited educational institution.
• Current New York State license as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
• LMSW required. Candidates must be actively working toward LCSW licensure and meet applicable requirements for advancement toward LCSW status.
• Specialized training or a minimum of one (1) year of professional experience working with people with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (ID/DD), or the ability to obtain such experience through supervised practice.
• Ability to practice under the clinical supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in accordance with New York State regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

·         Basic computer proficiency, including electronic health record (EHR) systems.

·         In person 35 hour/week position

Travel between agency sites, meetings, and community locations may be required during the workday.

·         Valid New York State Driver's License is required.

·         Maintain all required licensure, certifications, annual trainings, and continuing education requirements applicable to the LMSW role and agency standards.
