High Reach Forklift Operator

This role involves operating both stand-up and sit-down forklifts to supply materials to production assemblers and to transport completed parts to shipping for delivery. You will support the shipping and receiving area by loading and unloading trucks, handling finished goods, and ensuring materials move safely and efficiently throughout the facility. Must have high reach experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate both stand-up and sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Supply assemblers with required materials to support continuous production operations.
• Transport completed parts from production areas to the shipping department for delivery.
• Work in the shipping and receiving area to load and unload trucks with completed parts and materials.
• Handle materials, pallets, and finished goods while maintaining accurate placement and flow within the warehouse.
• Navigate and operate forklifts in tight quarters while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
• Follow all facility safety rules and procedures, especially in areas with a high volume of forklifts and personnel.
• Participate in and successfully complete a forklift driving test to demonstrate safe and effective equipment operation.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient warehouse operations.
• Communicate effectively with assemblers, shipping/receiving staff, and other team members to coordinate material movement and priorities.

Essential Skills

• Proven ability to operate both stand-up and sit-down forklifts safely and effectively.
• Ability to pass a forklift test demonstrating safe and competent operation of all required equipment.
• Experience in material handling within a warehouse, production, or distribution environment.
• Experience working in shipping and receiving functions, including loading and unloading trucks.
• Strong attention to safety, especially when working in tight quarters and high-traffic forklift areas.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Willingness and ability to work assigned shifts, including extended hours as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience as a forklift operator in a unionized environment is an asset.
• Experience in warehouse operations, including material handling, shipping, and receiving.
• Comfort working in non-climate-controlled environments with seasonal temperature changes.
• Strong situational awareness and ability to operate equipment around a large number of personnel and forklifts.

Work Environment

This is a fast-paced, customer-focused warehouse and production support environment with a high volume of forklift and personnel traffic. You will work in tight quarters that require careful maneuvering and strict adherence to safety procedures. The facility is not climate controlled, so temperatures can be warm in the summer and cool in the winter. The workplace operates on multiple shifts: a first shift running Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and a third shift running Monday night through Thursday night from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., with additional hours before or after shifts as needed. The environment is unionized, and employees are expected to pay union dues in accordance with workplace policies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.21 - $21.21/hr.
