Remote Operations Technician

Remote Operations TechnicianMaas Energy Works (MEW) is seeking a new Remote Operations Technician to support and maintain the ongoing operations of projects throughout the western United States. These facilities are located on host dairy farms, where an anaerobic digester produces renewable biomethane gas which is processed on site and then either used to power lean burn piston electric power generators or is delivered into a private natural gas pipeline network operated by the company. Our operations team is split into office staff (this position) and field staff that work on the job sites.Office staff's close coordination with company field staff ensures high quality outcomes for operations and good relationships with partners, and overall accountability. The role of the office staff is to remotely monitor and troubleshoot electrical generation equipment, biogas cleanup facilities, and biogas pipelines, including order parts and materials. A high degree of organization and systems awareness will be required for this position. Many skills can be learned on the job from existing experts, and the job has an opportunity for advancement.ResponsibilitiesRemotely monitor and troubleshoot issues at assigned digester facilities and cleanup plantsCommunicate regularly with Field Ops Manager and on-site operators to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipmentTravel to digester sites and cleanup facilities 2-3 times per monthBe an avid learner, and support ROM in the monthly operations reportsRequires extensive communication via email, text, phoneQualifications & SkillsMechanical equipment knowledgeGeneral understanding of internal combustion engines is preferred but not requiredStrong written and verbal communication skillsAble to learn customized applications such as MaintainX, TeamViewer, Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), Intelimonitor, and various SCADA equipment.Self-motivatedAble to quickly learn extensive industry specific skills and methods.Must be proficient in EnglishAdditional proficiency in Spanish is helpful but not requiredMust possess valid US driver's licenseOther DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
