Responsibilities Responsible for the application of protective and decorative coats (paint, varnish, lacquer) to all interior and exterior surfaces and property, including preparing surfaces by washing, scraping, sanding and maintaining existing paint through matching and tinting. Installs, repairs, and maintains drywall, wall texturing, vinyl wall coverings, and ceiling acoustic texturing. Operates and maintains various painting and power equipment, including compressors, spray equipment, sandblasters, and heavy lift equipment (scissors/boom stage up to 80 feet), and safely handles and disposes of hazardous materials while following Standard Precautions using required personal protective equipment. Erects scaffolding and staging as necessary to reach work surfaces, and creates and applies graphics/signage layouts to comply with DOT, Safety, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Communicates with personnel on work order status and procedures for decision-making and compliance, supports Special Projects, participates in assigned meetings, workshops, and training, and completes other duties as assigned.
