Global Creative Director

About the Opportunity WeWork is seeking a seasoned and dynamic Creative Director to lead our global design and creative efforts. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, this role will be instrumental in shaping and evolving WeWork’s brand expression across all B2B and B2C touchpoints. The ideal candidate will possess extensive global experience in leading and managing creative teams, developing impactful brand strategies, and executing integrated marketing campaigns that significantly contribute to overall business growth. They should bring a proven track record in performance marketing, developing and optimizing creative strategies and execution to drive acquisition and retention on a global scale. This role requires a strong background in art direction and design, with the ability to oversee and inspire a global team across all key creative aspects, including visual identity, content creation, campaign development, and digital experiences. Responsibilities Creative Leadership & Vision: lead and manage a global team of graphic designers, copywriters, art directors, and video producers; elevate existing content and foster a culture of creative excellence across internal and external resources; develop and enforce global brand guidelines; concept and create original, inspiring content across mediums and markets; continually evolve design systems and visual identity; articulate the rationale behind design decisions and guide internal teams and external partners. Strategic Partnership & Business Alignment: collaborate closely with the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, ensuring all creative work reflects deep business understanding and aligns with company goals and marketing strategy. Team Development & Mentorship: provide hands‑on feedback, mentorship, and guidance; foster accountability, innovation, and resourcefulness; build and nurture relationships while aligning teams around a shared creative vision. Strategic Execution & Accountability: work with Brand Strategy, Performance Marketing, Sales, and Social Media teams to deliver high‑quality, scalable, on‑brand materials; oversee translation of concepts into actionable creative work; secure necessary approvals; maintain a performance‑minded mindset with constant testing; optimize creative workflows. Innovation & Workflow Optimization: stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes; manage and optimize creative workflows using AI‑powered tools; be a thought leader on marketing techniques, trends, and best practices; inform creative decisions with strong data literacy. Qualifications Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a related field. Global Creative Leadership: 12‑15+ years of progressive experience in art direction and design, with a proven track record of leading and inspiring global creative teams in B2B and B2C environments. Industry Expertise: Demonstrated experience in professional services, particularly within real estate or financial services. Strategic Brand & Performance Acumen: Deep understanding of global brand development and integrated marketing campaigns, with a strong emphasis on performance marketing. Exceptional Creative Vision: Comprehensive understanding of design principles, photography, compelling copy, and impactful video production. Dynamic People Leadership: Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven ability to mentor diverse global teams. Strategic Project Management: Excellent time management, ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while ensuring on‑time and on‑budget delivery. Collaborative Leadership: Ability to forge strong, collaborative relationships with senior leadership and cross‑functional partners. Innovation & Adaptability: Proactive approach to staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies (including AI), and competitive landscapes. Portfolio: Please include a digital portfolio of creative design work. Compensation & Benefits Base Pay: $163,000 to $210,000 annually. Incentive Compensation: WeWork employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan specific to their role, detailed by recruiters. Benefits include comprehensive benefits such as 20 days of PTO, approximately 10 paid holidays, 80 hours of paid sick leave, 16 weeks of paid parental leave, competitive healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, and Life & AD&D insurance.
