In the Float Pool, you will work with diverse populations of patients in numerous units, departments and/or locations while learning from many of our best caregivers. This position is fast-paced and constantly changing, so adaptability and flexibility are important. Still, you will find a solid, united culture, where caregivers continuously encourage each other to be their best and provide unparallel patient care. Every day, you will be celebrated for all you bring to Cleveland Clinic as an RN.

A caregiver in this position works days from 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients' conditions.
• Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
• Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
• One year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting or Military RN License

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
