Description

As a Temporary Veterinary Assistant, you'll support our veterinary team by providing compassionate care to animals, assisting with medical procedures, maintaining a clean and efficient clinic, and helping ensure every patient receives exceptional care. This temporary, part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys teamwork, values professionalism, and wants to make a meaningful impact in animal welfare.

What You'll Do

• Assist veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians during exams, surgeries, and medical procedures.
• Prepare animals, equipment, and treatment areas while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized clinic.
• Monitor patients before and after procedures and provide compassionate handling and restraint.
• Perform routine veterinary support tasks, including sample collection, vaccinations, medication administration under supervision, and basic treatments.
• Support clinic operations through inventory management, recordkeeping, client communication, and other administrative duties.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, organized, and able to remain calm under pressure. The ideal candidate enjoys working as part of a collaborative team, communicates effectively with coworkers and the public, and is committed to providing excellent care for every animal.

Preferred (not required):

Experience working in a veterinary hospital, animal shelter, or with shelter management software such as PetPoint.

Work Environment

This is an active, hands-on position requiring frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance), animal restraint, and work in a busy veterinary clinic. Team members may be exposed to loud noise, animal odors, scratches, bites, and contagious diseases while providing safe and compassionate care.


This is a temporary full-time position that is not eligible for benefits.

Salary


$18.83 - $19.25 per hour
