Staff Accountant

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a national roofing contracting company as part of the regional accounting team in Mankato, MN. This is a strong opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to build a long-term career within a stable, growing organization while gaining exposure to multiple operating businesses.

This individual will support the Regional Controller and provide accounting support across approximately 23 operating units. The role will assist with month-end close activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, forecasting, tax-related activities, inventory, audits, and project accounting. While accounting responsibilities are typically owned at the individual operating-unit level, the Staff Accountant provides regional oversight and support and may step in to perform more hands-on accounting activities when an operating unit has a gap in coverage.

Tecta is looking for someone with a strong accounting foundation, an ownership mentality, and a desire to continue developing professionally. The hiring manager is a CPA and is highly supportive of employees pursuing their CPA, including providing mentorship and signing off on qualifying experience.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 1+ year of professional accounting experience; 2–4 years is an ideal range Exposure to month-end close Experience with journal entries and account reconciliations Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups Experience working within an ERP/accounting system Microsoft Dynamics experience Construction or project-based accounting experience Job-costing or WIP exposure Inventory accounting experience CPA track or interest in pursuing CPA certification
