CLASS DEFINITION Operations Specialist I encompasses professional and analytical work requiring regular use of independent judgment in the practical application of management principles and techniques to improve operational activities in accordance with agency laws and policies. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must: EDUCATION:

An Associate’s Degree AND EXPERIENCE:

5 years of experience performing complex analytical support for an operational, technical, or administrative function is required. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATES:

Positions in the Drug Analysis Unit require certification by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to analyze Controlled Dangerous Substances. Certification from a National Certifying Board in Latent Print Examination may be required. KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Thorough knowledge of English usage. Thorough knowledge of reference and research methods and techniques used in collecting, compiling, and organizing data. Thorough knowledge of moderately-complex analytical principles and techniques. Demonstrated ability to prepare and present reports. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers and the general public. Demonstrated ability to explain an agency’s purpose, programs, and operations. Demonstrated ability to collect, compile, edit, classify, and tabulate statistical and qualitative data. Demonstrated ability to prepare and present ideas and information clearly yet concisely. Background Check NOTE:
