Registered Nurse NICU

Job Summary:


The Registered Nurse in the NICU is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to neonates born at 32 weeks gestation or greater, including Level II NICU patients and normal newborn admissions. This role involves managing respiratory support equipment, administering feedings, and assisting with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including high-risk cases. The nurse must collaborate with the healthcare team and maintain required certifications to ensure high standards of neonatal care. A minimum of 2 years NICU nursing experience is required.

Responsibilities:

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum 2 years of NICU nursing experience.
• Valid CLS (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) certification.
• Valid NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
• Active Registered Nurse license, including acceptance of compact nursing licenses.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Competency in caring for mother-baby couplets (not expected unless already competent).

Special Considerations:

• Must be willing to float to other units as needed.
• Previous permanent Providence employees must have a minimum 3-month separation before reapplying.

Scheduling:

• Shift assignments and schedules will be determined by unit needs and may include variable hours.
