Computed Tomography Technologist

The Computed Tomography Technologist or CT Tech at Riverview Health uses advanced technology to help doctors diagnose injuries and disease quickly to ensure a quick response and appropriate treatment. CT Techs work in our freestanding ED/Urgent care locations as well as our Westfield and Noblesville hospitals. As compassionate health care providers they make a difference in the patient experience by comforting them through their stress and worry and ensuring their safety throughout the study.

Job Responsibilities

• Produce images using CT scanner and assist Radiologist in viewing and reconstructing images.
• Assess patient needs and determine appropriate interventions. Provide for the emotional and physical comfort and safety or patient.
• Accurately and safely administer contrast material to the patient in preparation for the CT study.
• Accurately position patients to allow capture of clear and accurate images.
• Observe and report general physical and mental condition of patients for signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change.
• Archive daily information into electronic systems and accurately maintain records of all examinations performed. Collect and provide monthly statistics as required and contribute to QA and CQI
• Follow infection control requirements and assist in cleaning and disinfecting rooms to provide a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Supervise Students as required.
• Exercise judgement in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures to assure compliance with state, federal, and local requirements.
• Participate in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for continued competence.
• Other Duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

• Minimum: Graduate of an approved Joint Review Committee on Education (JRCERT) in Radiologic Technology.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum: One (1) or more years Radiology or Computed Tomography experience
• Preferred: Two (2) or more years Computed Tomography experience

License/Certification Requirements

Minimum:

• American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) - CT Board Certified by date of hire or transfer into position
• Radiologic Technologist license valid to practice in the state of Indiana

Technical/other training or better in Radiologic Technology.
