Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Location: RWJUH Rahway Hospital Department Name: Cardiac Catheter Lab Req #: 0000252074 Status: Hourly Shift: Day Pay Range: $48.29 - $65.06 per hour Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: The experienced Cath Lab RN is responsible for the general nursing activities in the Invasive Cardiovascular Lab (ICVL), providing quality patient care. The ICVL RN’s main function is to provide direct patient care effectively and efficiently to cardiovascular patients with varied and complex needs. The ICVL RN assumes general nursing activities with progressive responsibility, including but not limited to participating in or planning and presentation of departmental initiatives. Qualifications and Requirements: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program, Current New Jersey RN License. 2+ years’ experience in ICU/Critical Care required. 2+ years direct Cath Lab Procedural Nursing Experience, preferred. EKG, BLS via American Heart Association, and ACLS Certification. Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital to meet the required response time for call shifts. Scheduling Requirements: Day Shift, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM 12-Hour Shifts, On Call Shifts Required Essential Functions: The Registered Nurse provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics. The Registered Nurse assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence-based practice by maintaining a realization of his/her own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others in the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resources and programs available. The Registered Nurse is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors. The Registered Nurse is responsible for knowledge of the patient population served. The Registered Nurse is responsible for supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers. The Registered Nurse is responsible for consistently setting and evaluating priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement. The Registered Nurse is an individual practitioner and an interdisciplinary team manager, who utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs.
