Sr Mechanical Engineer

The Sr Mechanical Engineer will plan and execute mechanical design and development activities for medical device systems and components. Manage projects of moderate scope and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure quality and compliance. Acts as a resource for less experienced engineers and contributes to innovative, Responsibilities:Plan and conduct mechanical design and development for complex components and subsystems, applying advanced engineering principles.Independently create and validate 3D models, detailed drawings, and specifications ensuring compliance with GD&T and quality standards.Develop and execute test protocols; analyze results and recommend design improvements.Conduct design reviews and provide technical expertise to resolve complex issues.Execute and document verification and validation testing.Prepare technical documentation, proposals, and cost estimates to support project planning and decision-making.Collaborate across functions and with external partners to address technical challenges and ensure timely project delivery.Apply FBS tools and best practices to optimize design processes and improve product Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldMinimum 10+ years of mechanical design experience in regulated industry (or 7+ years with Master’s)Proficient in SolidWorks and GD&T principles.Strong knowledge of design for manufacturing and testability.Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.Effective verbal and written communication.Familiarity with electrical safety standards.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, and collaboration toolsAbility to coordinate projects and influence cross-functional teams.Uses general hand and laboratory tools.Domestic and International travel as requiredFortive Corporation OverviewFortive's essential technology makes the world safer and more productive.
