Location: Moline, Illinois
Schedule: Full-time, on-site
Compensation: $90,000–$95,000 annually

Position Overview

Avento Health is recruiting an experienced Clinical Director to launch and lead a brand-new day services clinic supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Moline, Illinois.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an independently licensed Illinois clinician who wants to build a clinical program from the ground up. The Clinical Director will initially be the only clinician, will carry a small caseload, and will help establish the clinic's clinical systems, workflows, documentation standards, staffing structure, and day-to-day operations. As the caseload grows, another clinician is expected to be hired and the Clinical Director role will transition toward supervision and clinical leadership rather than maintaining an ongoing caseload.

The ideal candidate combines strong clinical judgment with staff leadership, organization, regulatory awareness, and the ability to create effective systems in a developing program.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical and operational launch of a new day services clinic serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Initially provide direct clinical services while carrying a small caseload as the clinic develops.
• Transition toward supervision and clinical leadership as the clinical team grows.
• Develop and implement clinical workflows, procedures, documentation standards, and quality-control processes.
• Supervise, coach, and support therapists and other clinical staff.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and staff development.
• Coordinate person-centered clinical services for individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, and complex support needs.
• Review assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, reports, transition documentation, and other clinical records for quality, accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Provide clinical consultation regarding complex behavioral or mental health needs.
• Monitor clinical outcomes, service quality, regulatory requirements, and opportunities for program improvement.
• Establish clear staff responsibilities, scheduling processes, deadlines, and follow-up systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams, organizational leadership, individuals receiving services, families, guardians, and other support systems.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related behavioral health discipline.
• Current Illinois clinical or therapist license permitting independent behavioral health practice.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Previous experience providing behavioral health or therapeutic services.
• Clinical supervision, program leadership, or comparable leadership experience.
• Strong administrative, organizational, documentation, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to create structure, establish processes, and manage multiple clinical and operational priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• LCSW or LCPC preferred; other appropriately licensed Illinois clinicians may be considered based on experience.
• Experience supporting adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• QIDP qualification or previous QIDP experience.
• Experience in day services, community-based human services, developmental disability services, or a related setting.
• Previous experience as a Clinical Director, Program Director, Clinical Supervisor, Clinic Manager, or similar clinical leader.
• Experience launching, developing, or significantly expanding a clinical program or service line.
• Experience with regulatory compliance, quality assurance, documentation review, and staff performance management.
