Plant Operator (Open) Location: Chattanooga, TN - Filling Industrial How Will You Contribute and Grow? Airgas is hiring for a Plant Operator in Chattanooga, TN! Join our dynamic team at Airgas as a Plant Operator and play a vital role in our commitment to delivering excellence in industrial gasses and related products. As a Plant Operator, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our production facility, including the filling of cylinders, to ensure the highest quality standards are met. Job Duties: Operate and maintain equipment within our production facility, including compressors, pumps, filling stations, and forklifts, to ensure a steady supply of industrial gases. Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in optimal condition, identifying and addressing any issues promptly. Safely handle and transport cylinders, including filling and quality checks, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and guidelines. Operate a forklift to move materials and products within the facility safely. Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, cylinder tracking, and production activities. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure work environment. Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills. Are You a Match? Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications: Technical certification in industrial operations is a plus. Previous experience in plant operations, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols. Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently. Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as needed.
