Senior Medical Director, Early-Stage Clinical Development

Revolution Medicines is a late‑stage clinical oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies for patients with RAS‑addicted cancers. The company’s RAS(ON) inhibitors – daraxonrasib (RMC‑6236), elironrasib (RMC‑6291), zoldonrasib (RMC‑9805), and RMC‑5127 – are currently in clinical development. Opportunity We are seeking an experienced clinical science drug developer to serve as Senior Medical Director of Clinical Development. In this critical role you will lead the clinical science aspects of the Clinical Development Plan (CDP) strategy, drive the development of transformative therapies, and support molecules in clinical or late pre‑clinical development. Lead clinical science and medical aspects of the clinical development strategy and documentation. Represent the CDP on appropriate teams, train site personnel, and act as primary point of contact for program‑level questions. Oversee the conduct of medical/safety data reviews and study reporting. Potential assignment to complex and high‑priority strategic studies with independent, self‑directed leadership. Align cross‑functionally with scientific, regulatory, and commercial teams to execute the CDP. Lead, mentor, and contribute to a high‑performing cross‑functional team of clinical development professionals. Oversee all aspects of clinical trial design and execution, including site selection, recruitment, data management, and compliance. Maintain relationships with investigators, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders. Gather, analyze, and interpret clinical data, providing strategic insights. Manage clinical development timelines and resource allocation to meet milestones. Stay current on scientific advancements and regulatory trends. Possibility to manage multiple direct reports. Required Skills, Experience and Education MD (oncology training preferred) with 7+ years in pharma/biotech or academic clinical development; early‑phase experience preferred. Extensive experience with data analysis, interpretation, and clinical relevance. Proficient in independent trial design, protocol writing, CRF construction, and cross‑functional coordination. In‑depth therapeutic area expertise and relevant trial experience. Strong knowledge of GCP, ICH, FDA, EMA, and related guidelines. Efficient collaboration within cross‑functional drug development teams. Experience authoring regulatory briefing packs and responding to health authority questions. Success in driving study‑level strategy, feasibility, timelines, budget projections, and protocol amendments. Ability to build relationships with external key opinion leaders and optimize investigator engagement. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to inspire and mentor. Experience in mentoring and potential as an effective line manager. Strategic thinking and analytical skills with data‑driven decision making. Strong written and business presentation skills. Preferred Skills Significant contributions to clinical development plan conception and delivery. Experience enhancing core and sub‑team processes, structures, systems, and tools. Leadership in major regulatory submissions (IND, EOP2, PIP/PSP, label negotiation, BTD, Accelerated Review). Experience presenting CDP aspects to health authorities by teleconference or in‑person. Ability to define CDP strategy for CTA/EC submissions and respond to health authority questions. Collaborative experience with enterprise‑level strategic initiatives across internal and external stakeholders. Inspiring leadership and conflict‑resolution skills. Demonstrated courage and conviction in past roles. Base pay salary range: $346,000 – $397,000 USD.
