Research Assistant: Axiom Brain Health, Tampa, FL

The Research Assistant atAxiom Brain Healthsupports the operational and research activities of the site. This on-site dual role combines administrative responsibilities such as scheduling, participant check-in/out, phone and fax management, office supply coordination, and calendar management with hands-on research support. Research responsibilities may include blood collection and specimen processing, vital signs, ECGs, investigational product IP receipt and accountability, data entry, RealTime CTMS participant review and data cleanup, and other study-related tasks as delegated and trained. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, adaptable, and interested in contributing to Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative disease research through a combination of participant facing, clinical, administrative, and study support responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative & Scheduling Support Check in and check out participants; ensure appointment flow is smooth and accurate. Answer multi-line phones and route calls or take clear messages as needed. Manage incoming and outgoing faxes; distribute promptly to appropriate staff. Coordinate and confirm participant visit schedules; manage study calendars and reflect staff PTO. Maintain and organize front desk, waiting areas, and shared spaces. Manage incoming mail and deliveries; distribute to appropriate team members. Maintain and monitor office supplies; reorder as needed to ensure key items are stocked. Assist with filing, scanning, copying, building participant charts, and preparing visit materials. Clinical Research & Visit Support Assist with participant outreach, scheduling, visit confirmations, and other study-related communications. Prepare study-specific materials, equipment, and supplies in advance of participant visits. Perform blood collection/phlebotomy in accordance with study protocols and site procedures. Process, prepare, package, and store blood and other biological specimens according to protocol and laboratory manual requirements. Collect and document vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, height, and weight, as required by study protocols. Perform 12-lead ECGs and other protocol required clinical procedures after appropriate training and delegation. Assist study coordinators and investigators with participant visits and study procedures as needed. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of completed research procedures. Assist with laboratory supply and kit inventory, expiration tracking, and preparation of specimens for shipment. Perform data entry, source organization, and RealTime CTMS participant reviews, reconciliation, and data cleanup. Support study teams with tracking outstanding study tasks, data, documents, and follow up items. Assist with preparation for monitoring visits, audits, and other study related activities as needed. Complete study specific and protocol required training and perform delegated research tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Prior experience in a clinical research, medical office, laboratory, pharmacy, or administrative setting preferred. Phlebotomy experience or training strongly preferred; willingness to complete training required if not already qualified. Experience performing vital signs, ECGs, specimen processing, or other clinical procedures is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn scheduling software and clinical research databases, including RealTime CTMS. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocol-specific instructions and established procedures. Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with research participants and their families. Ability to handle confidential information and comply with regulatory, protocol-specific, and site requirements. This role is part of a small, hands-on team, and responsibilities may evolve over time.
