Automotive Technician

Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical problems in vehicles and equipment.

Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.

Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify vehicle issues and recommend appropriate repairs.

Repair or replace defective parts such as engines, transmissions, brakes, steering components, and suspension systems.

Conduct safety inspections to ensure vehicles meet operational and regulatory standards.

Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper performance.

Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and parts inventory.

Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Automotive technology certificate or diploma from a technical, vocational, or trade school.

ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification is often preferred or required for career advancement (not necessary but preferred).

Valid driver's license and the ability to operate manual and automatic vehicles.

6 months to 1 year of experience performing basic vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Experience changing oil, filters, tires, batteries, and brakes.

Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.

Ability to perform vehicle inspections and identify basic mechanical issues.

Understanding of safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Experience assisting senior mechanics with diagnostics and repairs.

Basic knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, brakes, steering, and suspension.

Ability to maintain service records and follow repair instructions.
