Position Overview The PSM is an emerging leader within the PST, which is responsible for ensuring that project teams receive the necessary support and resources for implementing end to end programs successfully including start up, implementation, reporting, and close out; they also support brokering and sourcing technical and other services, and help to establish linkages for successful project delivery across the ID portfolio. The PSM serves as a partner to project leads and is responsible for providing centralized and standardized program management support that meets JSI’s quality standards, focusing on programmatic excellence and risk mitigation. The PSM partners with their assigned project team(s), PST team members, Project Leadership, Country leadership and teams, and other functional units (e.g. Technical Practice Areas, Program Finance & Operations, People & Culture, Communications, Contract & Compliance, and Business Development [BD]) to ensure project leadership is successful. The PSM is responsible for role modelling JSI’s program management quality standards across all areas of project implementation including program planning, implementation, and management, focusing on programmatic excellence and risk mitigation. The PSM additionally supports training and mentoring of team members and contributes to system and process improvement initiatives in ID. The PSM also participates in new business development efforts as assigned. This full-time, short-term (at least three months) position reports to the Program Support Lead within the PST and can be located in the U.S. where JSI is registered. Responsibilities Project Management and Coordination Support end to end program delivery, ensuring deliverables are met and operational procedures are followed, maintaining collaboration across the project team(s) and other functional units to ensure projects have the people resources and administrative support needed. In collaboration with project leadership teams, contribute to annual work planning, donor reports, and other deliverables, and participate in the work plan review process to share lessons learned across the portfolio, executing to donor and JSI’s quality standards. Coordinate with project leadership to ensure project-speci?c guidelines and regulations are up to date, proactively identifying and incorporating changes. Knowledge Management and Reporting Ensure all project documentation and information is current, complete, and meets organizational standards. Review and contribute to program updates for internal and external audiences working with project leadership and communications. Continuously review processes and procedures for improvement opportunities and contribute to learning and thought leadership activities. Business Development Coordinate with appropriate BD Regional Point of Contact to support effective collaboration and communication between project staff and BD team for advanced planning, intel sharing, partner identification, etc., including supporting leaders with Go/No Go decisions. Play a variety of key proposal roles, as assigned; participate in capture efforts; draft proposal sections; support identification of partners and key personnel as required. People Management Lead and manage staff in full accordance with JSI policies, procedures. Manage staff and team performance at a team level and individual staff level, providing timely performance feedback and mentoring, as assigned. Manage staff portfolios, as needed, ensuring program support assignments and workload are managed effectively. Qualifications Education, Experience, Skills, and Competencies Bachelor’s degree in Program Management, International Development, Public Health, Education, Public Policy, or related ?eld is required or equivalent experience. 6+ years’ progressive experience supporting international projects in the health or education sector, across multiple countries. Previous JSI experience is strongly preferred. Demonstrated success in program planning and management, including familiarity with common planning frameworks and monitoring tools. Experience successfully managing relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders in multi-cultural environments and in diverse locations internationally, including governments and the donor community. Computer literacy with demonstrated competency in systems and database softwares (e.g. Microsoft, Google, Salesforce), and demonstrated ability to analyze, assess and organize information with high attention to detail. Excellent English communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal with cultural competency. Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, and ?exibility within an environment of frequent interruptions, changing or con?icting priorities, and varying workloads. Ability to thrive in a self-directed, fast-paced environment, and operate with a high sense of urgency and ownership. Language Fluent oral and written English communication skills. Fluency in French, Spanish, or Portuguese is highly preferred. Travel Expectation Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, as requested. Work Environment Mostly operates a computer. Ability to maintain a comfortable and ergonomic posture while working or bending, sitting, kneeling, lifting, driving.
