Quality Technician

QUALITY TECHNICIAN - LEVELS 1-3

Our Quality Technicians help make sure castings, inspection results, testing records, and quality documentation meet the requirements our customers depend on. As a Quality Technician at PCC Structurals - Carson City, you'll perform hands‑on inspection and product verification while supporting laboratory activities, controlled documentation, NDT records, quality projects, and daily production needs. You'll work closely with Quality Engineers, Inspectors, Laboratory personnel, Production, NDT, and Operations. We're hiring Quality Technicians at Levels 1, 2, and 3. Your starting level and pay will be based on your inspection knowledge, technical skills, and relevant experience. The more experience you bring, the higher the level and earning opportunity. If you already have strong dimensional inspection, GD&T, FAI, Keyence, testing, or technical quality experience, we want to hear from you. What You'll Do Perform visual and dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measurement equipment. Review drawings, specifications, technique cards, work instructions, and customer requirements. Verify product conformance, identify discrepancies, and maintain accurate inspection records. Support product audits, traceability, quality documentation, and record‑retention requirements. Assist with metallurgical laboratory coordination, testing results, purchase orders, and supporting documentation. Support controlled procedures, forms, specification revisions, and NDT documentation updates. Work with Production, Quality, Engineering, NDT, and Laboratory personnel to resolve quality and documentation concerns. Participate in corrective actions, quality improvement projects, and continuous improvement activities. Help maintain product flow while protecting customer, regulatory, and company requirements.

WHERE DOES YOUR EXPERIENCE FIT?

LEVEL 1 - BUILD YOUR QUALITY FOUNDATION

Perform basic visual and dimensional inspections using established procedures. Read work orders, inspection instructions, drawings, and quality documentation. Develop blueprint-reading and basic GD&T knowledge. Complete inspection records, logbooks, rejection documentation, and product‑traceability activities. Verify inspection tools are within calibration and maintain organized inspection areas. Level 2 - Expand Your Inspection Skills Designed for an experienced technician ready to perform more advanced inspection, testing, and equipment work. Perform intermediate visual and dimensional inspections and final mechanical testing. Complete in‑process inspections and First Article Inspection (FAI) activities. Create final test reports and maintain accurate testing documentation. Operate Keyence equipment and other advanced inspection systems. Perform basic equipment setup and use ERP systems for traceability and inspection activities. Cross‑train and support other inspection, laboratory, NDT, and production quality functions.

LEVEL 3 - LEAD THROUGH TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

Built for an advanced technician who can handle complex inspections, troubleshoot issues, and help develop others. Perform advanced inspections on complex products and assemblies. Set up and optimize Keyence equipment and other advanced inspection systems. Conduct qualification‑level testing and verification activities. Interpret advanced GD&T, engineering drawings, and specifications. Support nonconforming product investigations, troubleshooting, and process improvements. Train and mentor other technicians and serve as a technical resource for inspection methods and quality requirements.

Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Previous manufacturing, aerospace, quality, inspection, or laboratory experience preferred. Experience using precision measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions. > Knowledge of GD&T; the depth of knowledge required will vary by technician level. Experience with Keyence equipment, FAI, testing, ERP systems, or advanced inspection methods is especially valuable for higher-level placement. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and related business software. Strong organizational, communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and perform inspection tasks for extended periods. Ability to lift and maneuver up to 35 pounds independently; heavier items require assistance or approved lifting devices. Ability to use precision tools requiring fine motor skills and sustained attention to detail. Ability to work in manufacturing and inspection environments with exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying production conditions.
