Commercial HVAC Technician

Summary Install and maintain HVAC systems and all other related HVAC components correctly and in a timely manner, while also helping facilitate customer satisfaction and workplace safety. All HVAC technicians are expected to work under close supervision within a team-oriented environment and with a minimal amount of creative design, depending on work experience and proven competencies. Schedule Schedule : 8-hour day shift, Monday - Friday with potential for overtime License/Certification Journeyman HVAC preferred Responsibilities Install HVAC systems for commercial construction Cutting and threading pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machines Installation of sheet metal duct and HVAC equipment Set/mount equipment, rough‑in and trim duct systems, experience installing duct systems is preferred Layout and connect electrical wiring between the controls and equipment according to the wiring diagram Ensure customer satisfaction Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; EPA certification a plus 3-5 years of practical working experience in the HVAC industry, preferably commercial HVAC Past experience working on construction projects desired Must have the ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, specifications, and drawings Excellent problem‑solving and customer service skills Must have an honest and dependable personality Strong mechanical aptitude Strong ability to distinguish between various HVAC equipment Self‑motivated individual with strong ability to follow instructions and work alone, as well as work effectively within a team Ability to display professional company image Possession of valid driver’s license with good record of driving and reliable transportation Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Strong ability to write and read in English language Ability to lift items weighing up to 100lbs safely Strong ability to operate under severe temperature condition for long periods of time Ability to climb, stoop, balance, crouch, crawl, or/and kneel continually Must be able to access and navigate all areas of construction sites

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND EXPECTATIONS

Some job duties are performed within an established office environment under normal lighting and climate‑controlled tolerances. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. When the employee is at a work site, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and outdoor weather conditions. The noise in the work environment is often loud. Requires a consistent physical presence at the branch office to oversee shared services functions and employees, normally achieved by working standard business hours. Certain positions will require flexibility of working hours to meet the demands of the job and the direction of the manager. The work environments are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or pulling. Frequently reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
