Job Description

The Production Packer operates in a clean injection molding environment, inspecting and packaging plastic parts according to detailed job instructions. This role requires working 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule, performing visual inspections, sorting parts, and preparing products for further processing or scrap. The position involves standing for long periods at the end of the production line, handling parts quickly and accurately while maintaining a strong focus on quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and package parts according to job packet instructions, ensuring all specifications and quality standards are met.
• Visually inspect each part at the end of the production line to identify defects, damage, or irregularities.
• Sort parts by placing acceptable pieces into designated bins for packaging and transferring them to the next area of the process.
• Place defective or non-conforming parts into scrap boxes according to established procedures.
• Stand on your feet for extended periods while continuously grabbing parts from the end of the line in a fast-paced environment.
• Accurately place each part in one of two designated areas, demonstrating consistent attention to detail and quick decision-making.
• Work on multiple production lines when required, adapting to both slower-paced and faster-paced lines as needed.
• Support general production activities such as assembly, packaging, labeling, and visual inspection in a cleanroom setting.
• Follow all safety requirements, including wearing safety glasses, hair nets, and appropriate leg-covering pants in the cleanroom.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with cleanroom and injection molding shop standards.

Essential Skills

• Approximately 1 year of production or manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Approximately 1 year of packaging and labeling experience is preferred.
• Approximately 1 year of experience inspecting parts or working in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods while performing repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail for visual inspection and accurate sorting of parts.
• Capability to work effectively on both slower-paced and faster-paced production lines.
• Comfort working in a cleanroom environment with strict safety and cleanliness requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with general labor, warehouse, or production work is beneficial.
• Experience in assembly or cleanroom operations is an advantage.
• Familiarity with visual inspection processes in a manufacturing setting is helpful.
• Exposure to molding machines, troubleshooting, or basic mechanical aptitude is a plus.
• Ability to adapt to changing line speeds and handle multiple tasks within the production area.
• Willingness to complete initial training on a different shift schedule.

Work Environment

The role is based in an injection molding shop that operates as a clean, organized environment focused on plastics rather than metal, resulting in a tidier and more controlled workspace. Work takes place in a cleanroom where safety glasses and hair nets are required at all times, and pants must fully cover the legs with no open areas visible. The position follows a 2-2-3 shift schedule with 12-hour shifts: daylight runs from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and night shift runs from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Initial training occurs on daylight hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Work is primarily performed while standing at the end of production lines, handling plastic parts in a fast-paced setting. The facility uses injection molding equipment and related production lines, and the environment supports cleanroom standards, emphasizing cleanliness, safety, and consistent production flow.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Derry, PA.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
