SAP EWM Architect

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end S/4HANA MM and EWM architectures mapped to business processes.

• Integrate EWM with warehouse automation systems such as WCS, AGVs, and RFID.

• Architect inventory management workflows supporting material traceability and compliance requirements.

• Define data flows between SAP MM/EWM and manufacturing execution systems (MES).

• Configure import/export purchasing processes aligned with applicable customs and regulatory requirements.

• Implement localization requirements for domestic purchasing, subcontracting, and VAT invoice matching.

• Design logistics documentation including waybills, delivery notes, and customs declarations.

• Deploy solutions on compliant cloud infrastructure such as Alibaba Cloud or AWS.

• Lead SAP Activate blueprinting phases for warehouse and procurement operations across multiple sites.

• Configure complex EWM features including Wave Management, Slotting, Kitting, and Yard Management.

• Manage localization gaps by designing minimal, high-efficiency custom ABAP objects where standard SAP falls short.

• Drive physical inventory and cutover planning tailored to operational schedules.

• Facilitate technical design workshops with warehouse managers and business leaders.

• Govern local implementation partners and third-party logistics (3PL) IT providers.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of SAP MM and EWM implementation experience.

• At least 1 full-lifecycle S/4HANA implementation as a Lead Architect.

• Proven track record of rolling out global logistics templates into manufacturing or distribution sites.

• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP MM, and SAP EWM architecture and implementation.

• Experience integrating SAP EWM with WCS, AGVs, RFID, and MES.

• Experience with SAP Activate blueprinting and complex EWM features including Wave Management, Slotting, Kitting, and Yard Management.

• Mandarin and English language proficiency is required, as the role involves extensive communication and coordination with China counterparts and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, clients, or business teams.
