Overview Registered Nurse – Med Surg in Hamilton, NY. Travel assignment starting 08/24/2026 for 13 weeks in a hospital setting. This assignment requires local lodging consideration within a 50-mile radius, ASAP start, and a focus on medical-surgical care with occasional non-pediatric cases. Key Highlights Weekly pay: $2,114–$2,196 per week Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week Contract duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift, 7:00 pm–7:00 am Start date: 08/24/2026; ASAP start; 50-mile local radius rule (local rate may apply) Responsibilities Provide direct, patient-centered medical-surgical nursing care for adult patients with a variety of diagnoses (e.g., CHF, COPD, non-STEMI, DKA, post-operative recovery) Monitor vital signs, assess changes in patient condition, and upscale concerns per protocol Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV therapies, wound care, and post-surgical care Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (physicians, case managers, therapists) to develop and execute care plans Document care in the EMR (Sorian) and ensure clear handoffs at shift change Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, medications, and discharge plans; maintain patient safety and comfort Requirements Active registered nursing license in New York BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred 2+ years of med-surg RN experience; travel experience required Ability to work night shift (7:00 pm–7:00 am) and manage a typical 7:1 patient-to-nurse ratio (may be 8:1 in rare cases) Experience with EMR systems; Sorian EMR experience preferred Benefits and Support 13-week travel assignment with guaranteed hours Night shift position in a hospital setting Local radius consideration with local rate eligibility Onboarding and credentialing support; ongoing recruiter assistance Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
