Specialty Beverage Equipment Diagnostics & Reconditioning Technician
Do you thrive on solving technical puzzles and delivering like-new performance? Imagine opening a crate to discover a commercial brewer that’s seen better days. You methodically diagnose, restore, and certify it—so it can once again deliver exceptional specialty coffee. Every action you take is recorded to meet quality assurance requirements and maintain accurate inventory control.
Can you see yourself doing this?- Start by disassembling the unit and evaluating each part for wear, damage, and overall condition.
- Choose the right cleaning methods and materials to bring components back to spec.
- Repair to factory standards; replace what’s necessary to ensure reliability.
- Reassemble and test thoroughly—no shortcuts.
- Run diagnostics that confirm performance, safety, and compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Build a precise record of inspections, repairs, tests, and all parts used.
- Keep the parts room at par levels and your toolkit ready for the next challenge.
- Package and label equipment clearly so shipping and customers know exactly what they’re receiving.
- Maintain a spotless, organized workspace while following all safety guidelines.
- Jump in to help track and ship parts and finished equipment.
- Support inventory counts and, when needed, operate a forklift or pallet jack.
- Take on other duties as assigned to keep the operation running smoothly.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Foundational electrical and plumbing experience.
- At least two years refurbishing or repairing coffee brewers or related commercial equipment.
- Nice to have: experience with espresso machines, grinders, bean-to-cup systems, French press, and cold brew.
- Mechanical strength paired with an understanding of electrical systems.
- Sharp problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Comfort reading technical manuals and schematics; communicate clearly; collaborate or work independently as needed.
- Use meters confidently (volt, amp, ohm, etc.).
- Lift up to 100 lbs safely.
- Stand for extended periods when the job requires it.
