Central Plant Lead – JLL Develop your engineering career at JLL! The Central Plant Lead is responsible for operating and maintaining central plant equipment within a team environment while ensuring the highest level of professionalism and meeting clients’ needs. Responsibilities Implement and manage agreed‑to client maintenance standards. Assist in managing 3rd‑party maintenance providers. Execute equipment inspection and monitoring programs. Continuously evaluate current maintenance and operations methods. Lead plant maintenance and implement changes to enhance operational effectiveness. Day-to-Day Tasks Perform highly skilled operation, repair, and maintenance of plant equipment safely and efficiently. Analyze system data, monitor, and manage system controls or Building Automation Control Systems to anticipate needs and adjust set points. Operate, monitor, and maintain plant equipment such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC, motors, pumps, VFDs, and auxiliary controls. Perform routine and emergency repairs to electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machinery. Manage chemical treatment/testing and monitoring for steam, cooling towers, and chilled/hot water systems. Execute scheduled preventative maintenance and document tasks in the CMMS. Respond to alarms, correct system operations, and communicate issues and resolutions. Maintain infrastructure and compliance documentation, including up‑to‑date building drawings and regulatory compliance records. Provide work direction to maintenance team members and 3rd‑party service providers. Required Qualifications High School diploma or GED equivalent. At least 8 years of relevant experience in commercial or industrial central utility plant and chilled water systems. EPA Section608 Universal certification. Journeyman Refrigeration Technician’s License or Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician License. Valid state driver’s license. Experience using CMMS and/or BMS. Strong customer service, interpersonal, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills. Knowledge of building mechanical, HVAC, and electrical systems. Ability to read basic engineering drawings, specifications, and work orders. Flexible scheduling including holidays, weekends, and after‑hours emergencies. Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs., climb ladders, work at elevation, and in confined spaces. Preferred Qualifications Trade school education, union training, military service, or college degree. Location & Shift Franklin, MA 02038 On‑site, Monday‑Friday 7:00AM to 3:30PM with rotating on‑call schedule for after‑hours emergencies. Salary & Compensation $120,000–$140,000 per year (range is an estimate; final compensation may vary). Benefits 401(k) plan with matching company contributions.
