Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting students in a dynamic school environment near Peterborough, NH. We're seeking dedicated Paraprofessionals to provide essential assistance to students in both a middle and high school setting. Two contract positions are available, offering a chance to make a real impact throughout the academic year.
In this role, you’ll be supporting individual students as well as small groups, fostering academic and personal success. One opening involves working one-on-one with an eighth-grade student who is Autistic and nonverbal, helping to empower their educational journey. The second position entails assisting a small group of high school students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), facilitating inclusion within the general student population.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience as a Paraprofessional, PCA, or in a similar school support role
- Compassionate, attentive, and committed to students’ well-being
- Comfortable assisting with toileting, personal care needs, and academic activities
- Experience working with students with Autism or other developmental disabilities is highly valued
- Flexibility, strong communication skills, and teamwork are essential
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supportive, respectful, and attentive assistance during the school day
- Help implement academic plans and accommodations per students’ IEPs
- Assist with daily living skills, including toileting and personal care as required
- Encourage student independence and inclusion in classroom settings
- Collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, and families
Position Details:
- Middle School: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, High School: 8:40 AM – 3:33 PM (Monday-Friday)
- 32.5 hours/week; 30-minute unpaid lunch
- Contract runs from late August to mid-June
