About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: 4E/W Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years Med Tele experience in an acute care setting License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: EKG competency exam, telemetry experience, post-surgical recovery, PIV skills, central line care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, non-titrating cardiac gtts experience Description: This position requires a registered nurse with telemetry experience. The nurse will work in an environment that provides care for medical, surgical, telemetry, CHF, post-cath lab patients, pacemaker patients, dialysis, and COPD patients. The patient ratios are RN: 1:5 days and 1:6 nights, with CNAs at a ratio of 1:10. The unit is supported by a charge nurse, phlebotomy in-house, and an IV/VAT team available during the day shift. Telemetry monitoring is available with dedicated telemetry techs. The charting system used is an electronic medical record system. Nurses will float to other med-surg or telemetry units as needed. Weekend rotation is required every other weekend, with a 4 days on one week and 3 days the next week schedule. Holiday expectations include working 2 out of 3 holidays. The culture on the unit promotes a traveler-friendly, teamwork environment. Scrub colors for the position are pewter, with restrictions on t-shirt and jacket colors. Badges must be worn above the waist and in full view at all times.
