Role Summary Job Summary and Qualifications: Prepares patients and collects relevant information for completion of procedures. Performs all mammographic procedures. Observes patients’ conditions and notifies physician or supervisor of unusual occurrences. Practices radiation safety as described in Federal standards, utilizing ALARA policy. Operates electronic information systems, including eMAR, Meditech, and PACS. Compiles appropriate records to expedite results. Assists with reception of patients and enters orders into electronic information systems. Demonstrates ability to perform quality control functions daily, including MQSA Quality Control functions for mammography. Participates in continuing education activities to expand knowledge of Mammography and meet continuing education requirements of regulatory agencies and ARRT. Performs other procedures as assigned (stereotactic biopsy, needle localization, bone density studies). Qualifications Experience Required: ARRT (R). Mammography certified within 1 year of hire. Preferred: One year of experience as a mammographer in a hospital environment. Education Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
