Billing Clerk

Talascend is currently seeking a Billing Clerk for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona .


Overview


This position is an entry-level role within a billing center, responsible for compiling data and creating customer invoices to ensure accuracy of customer receivables. The role involves both on-site and remote work, with initial training required on-site.


Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team responsible for creating approximately 1.7 million invoices each month.
• Learn the billing system to create invoices under supervision.
• Review and analyze customer accounts to ensure transactions are accurately billed.
• Execute data integrity checks and investigate questionable items prior to billing.
• Compile, analyze, and validate customer revenue with assistance from experienced team members.
• Create and revise manual invoices.
• Research and resolve customer issues.
• Create and process billing adjustments and refunds.
• Collaborate with team members to research and resolve customer credit balances.
• Follow all required controls to ensure compliance.
• Perform duties specific to landfill and transfer station billing as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of relevant work experience in billing, accounts receivable, or related fields, or experience working in a similar role.
• Basic computer skills in a MS Office/Windows environment, including data entry, ten-key, and MS Excel.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure, and meet strict deadlines.
• Quick problem-solving abilities.
• Good organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and customers.
