We have an immediate need for a Buyer with an aerospace manufacturer who will support purchasing, material planning, suppliers, and production requirements.
Responsibilities :
- Create, manage, and expedite purchase orders based on MRP requirements and production demand.
- Monitor inventory, material requirements, lead times, and supplier deliveries.
- Follow up with suppliers on delivery dates, shortages, quality issues, and PO status.
- Read and interpret BOMs, blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Warehouse, and Accounting to resolve material and purchasing issues.
- Assist with supplier documentation, certifications, and compliance requirements.
- Help resolve material discrepancies, returns, rework, replacements, and supplier issues.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and material information in the ERP/MRP system.
- Support continuous improvement of purchasing, planning, and inventory processes.
Qualifications :
- 3+ years of purchasing, buying, material planning, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
- Ability to read BOMs, blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of ITAR, Incoterms, or trade compliance is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
