Pay Range: $63.23 - $99.59 per hour

Summary:

The Manager of Pharmacy Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end medication supply chain across the health system. This role ensures reliable, cost-effective, compliant, and timely procurement, inventory management, storage, distribution, and utilization of pharmaceuticals, controlled substances, and related supplies across all environments. This role ensures seamless procurement, inventory control, distribution, and vendor management to support high-quality patient care while minimizing waste and optimizing financial performance. The ideal candidate will drive supply chain innovations, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and adapt to evolving healthcare regulations and technologies in a dynamic, integrated health system environment.

Required Job Qualifications: • 5 years pharmacy experience in a progressive healthcare environment

• Experience with data analytics, pharmacy sourcing, contracting, and inventory systems.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or bachelor’s degree in a related field

• PharmD or 340B-related certifications (e.g., Apexus Certified Expert (ACE), 340B University).

• Demonstrated success leveraging analytics to drive outcomes.

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting, with occasional computer work for extended durations.

• May require lifting to 20 pounds (e.g., inventory handling).

• Work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with potential for on-call responsibilities to address urgent operational or clinical issues.

Responsibilities:

• Direct all pharmacy purchasing activities including sourcing, contracting, and procurement.

• Manage inventory using analytics-driven forecasting.

• Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies for medications and related products across RUSH settings. Monitor and forecast demand to maintain optimal inventory levels, reducing shortages and overstock.

• Lead negotiations with suppliers, distributors, and group purchasing organizations (GPOs) to secure favorable pricing, terms, and contracts. Evaluate vendor performance, ensure supply reliability, and identify opportunities for cost savings and diversification.

• Oversee centralized and decentralized inventory systems, including automated dispensing technologies. Coordinate distribution logistics between hospitals, ambulatory pharmacies, and off-site facilities to ensure timely delivery and compliance with cold chain requirements for sensitive medications.

• Ensure compliance with USP <797> , <800> , DEA, FDA, TJC, DSCSA, and State Board requirements. Conduct regular audits and quality checks to maintain accreditation and patient safety.

• Lead drug shortage response efforts.

• Analyze drug spend, inventory value, turnover, waste, and KPIs.

• Manage pharmacy supply chain team members.

• Collaborate and foster cross-departmental partnerships to align supply chain with clinical and operational goals.

• Champion adoption of supply chain technology and automation to achieve best practices.

• Drive process improvement and automation initiatives.

• Participate in emergency preparedness planning. Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions, pandemics, or natural disasters, ensuring continuity of critical medications across the system.
