HVAC Controls Systems Technician

Responsibilities Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools. Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems. Respond to basic warranty calls. Load system‑level controller software and perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from controllers to end devices (sensors, actuators, etc.). Complete all required commissioning documentation and keep management, JCI contractors, or customers informed of job progress and issues. Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment. Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation. Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation. Communicate with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training, maintaining a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities, and provide quotes to support recommendations. Qualifications 2‑year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field, or at least 3 years of industry experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical HVAC systems. Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques. Effective interpersonal skills, ability to represent Johnson Controls ethically and professionally, and to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical Building Automation equipment on a job site. PC experience required and ability to program HVAC‑related software. Compensation and Benefits Hourly rate: $25-34, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
