Civil Design Engineer
The Civil Design Engineer plays a crucial leadership role in technical project delivery and infrastructure planning. With an emphasis on stormwater management, roadway design, and site development, this position ensures our multidisciplinary projects uphold technical excellence and adhere to regulatory compliance. The engineer serves as a mentor to the technical staff and coordinates complex public and private sector projects.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the design and planning of large-scale infrastructure projects, including multi-use asphalt trails, roadway crossings, and site developments.
- Lead the firm's Stormwater Management & BMP Design efforts, including stream hydraulic evaluations and flood studies.
- Direct Utility Design and coordination for water, sanitary, and storm systems to ensure seamless integration with existing site infrastructure.
- Set standards for ADA Accessibility and safety across all transportation and recreational facility projects.
- Manage the full project lifecycle, from due diligence and project feasibility to construction phase services.
- Provide high-level technical review of Erosion & Sedimentation Control plans and NPDES Permitting documentation.
- Direct the preparation of detailed design documents, ensuring compliance with agencies such as ODOT, FEMA, ODNR, and county engineer offices.
- Facilitate asset and information management to improve firm efficiency and long-term project performance.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams, applying practical approaches to solving complex engineering and drainage challenges.
- Assist in pursuing project funding by developing grant applications, such as the Clean Ohio Trails Fund.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including municipal leadership, state agencies, and joint-venture partners, to enhance community-wide connectivity.
Essential Skills
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- 10+ years of experience in site civil and/or infrastructure design, utility coordination, and multi-disciplinary project management
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in civil engineering is preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or ability to obtain is preferred but not required
Work Environment
The position is 100% remote, with occasional client meetings and internal meetings in-person. Candidates must be based in Ohio. The firm is newly established (2024) and offers the opportunity to join at the ground floor of its growth, with plans to establish a brick & mortar location within the next few years.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr. Full benefits available Health, Dental, Vision
