About Precision Turbo and Engine Founded in 1987, Precision Turbo and Engine (PTE) is a leading manufacturer of high‑performance aftermarket turbochargers and boost control products. Our facility in Northwest Indiana supplies worldwide customers and OEMs with award‑winning components for racing, commercial, and original equipment applications. Position: Entry‑Level Assembler Monday through Friday, day shift. Rare overtime. Entry‑level assembly roles on the production line manufacturing turbochargers and boost control products. Responsibilities Read and follow all turbocharger assembly instructions and work instructions. Place parts in specified relationships, install fasteners in proper order, and inspect components and assemblies for conformity. Operate advanced equipment such as VSR and Component Balancers, perform fault analysis, and determine corrective action. Work at different stations as production needs require and assist in line operations for varying models. Identify and document serial numbers for manufactured turbochargers. Prioritize assembly jobs by task assignment and chronological order. Monitor inventory levels, notify supervisor of shortages, and coordinate with subcontractors for finished materials. Report non‑conforming parts to supervisor. Conduct final inspections of finished materials and mentor peers in inspection processes. Handle materials including forklift operation and required certification. Follow all company personnel policies and procedural standards. Physical Demands Stand for up to 4 hours at a time with minimal breaks; occasional sitting. Lift or move light items up to 25 lb, medium items up to 50 lb, and occasionally heavier items over 100 lb. Use hand and hand tools for fine‑motor assembly tasks. Wear safety glasses and steel‑toed shoes. Remain on site for the scheduled shift, interacting face‑to‑face with line colleagues. Work Environment Temperature‑controlled production area with occasional exposure to loud noise. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Equivalent combination of education and 1–3 months related experience/training acceptable. Basic reading and writing in English, ability to understand simple instructions. Basic mathematics skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages). Common sense reasoning to follow written or diagrammatic instructions. Computer skills: familiarity with inventory and manufacturing software. Team‑player mindset, responsive to feedback, willingness to roll up sleeves and solve problems. Compensation & Benefits Starting hourly rate: $19.50, subject to change based on training, skills, and market factors. Benefits include health, dental, vision, retirement (401(k)), paid time off, and potential eligibility for an annual bonus.
