Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Adult)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 4x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct emergency nursing care to adult and geriatric patients presenting with all emergency-type diagnoses, including trauma, CVA, neuro-trauma, and cardiac events
• Perform IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and initiation and maintenance of IVs, including IV vasopressors
• Manage ventilator-dependent patients and administer CPAP/BiPAP therapy as indicated
• Conduct cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Perform triage and maintain isolation precautions in accordance with facility protocols
• Float within skillset to other areas of the unit as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State single-state RN license required at time of submission (NY is not a Compact state; pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of emergency room nursing experience required
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (valid NIHSS must be included at submittal)
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records — hard requirement
• Demonstrated clinical experience with CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI
• Experience with emergency care including adult/pediatric ED, gunshot wounds, and orthopedic trauma

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience operating specialized equipment such as a Bair Hugger and rapid infuser
• Familiarity with safe patient handling equipment and pediatric spinal cord injury care
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers accepted
